06-28-08 (Guinness book of World Records)

This is history-in-the-making..
This is an attempt of the Philippines to assemble the most number of people balancing a book on their heads as celebration of Goodwill Bookstore's 70th Anniversary..

And.. wow.. I'm a part of it!
Let's look at the photos, shall we?

Assembly at the AVR.. A lot of names have been called.. Its a miracle to memorize them.. hahahha!Good thing, Angelo passed his reply slip..

In Frontera Verde, Pasig City.. So many people.. but no cute guys.. ='(

Obviously, vanity strikes again.. This time, mine came with a rule-breaking attitude.. I'm supposed to sign up earlier but I don't want to..

OK, so, we're AHAFACMiPA minus Pat, Darah, Arianne, Chippy, Abby.. I can say that we're the only ones who stayed in A for 4 years.. how sad.....

I just can't figure out why those 3 guys picked that pose. hahah! and, look at Oli.. He posed like a gay model here... hahahhah!

FALL IN LINE!! Apparently, CMSHS had the most number of students.. so we had the longest line.. Kinacareer tlaga!!

This is the burden above our heads.. JOKE! This is a "photobiography" of our late Cardinal Sin.. Its just dumb that we didn't get the chance to see what's inside it..='(

Balancing.. hahhahah!

Ok.. Are you all ready..?! hahahah!

OK, we're just hanging around..!

Waaaaaaa!!!

From this angle, you can really tell where I'm at.. near the stairs!! I wish I got a good shot at the video...

Dyenen! Moment of Truth!! we had 4 dry runs.. And one true attempt! yehey!
Gosh.. You can't imagine how fast this activity was.. but then we spent the whole morning on transportation and drinking free Nesvita Pro-Digestion..!

Bye bye book! Bye, Cardinal Sin...='(

OK, here, we're supposed to take a picture of a nude statue, just me and Jellah.. but soon, everyone went into the picture..!
Hai.. iba na talaga kapa maraming singit.. JOKE!

Ok, we're on the bus.. 4-a went with 3-a.. Everyone had a nice 15-minute ride back to school, especially Cedric, who sat with Arlene.. Hahhahah!
Ummm.. But the air smells weird.. *pukes*

hahhahah! The rest..? just check out other's photos.. I ran low of memory.. ='(
See you next world record attempt!

06-21-08 (series of unfortunate events)

Hi.
This is ummm.. my (do the math)th weekend since the start of classes..
And.. I just realized I still haven't seen the worst scenarios that our famous school, City of Mandaluyong Science High School, has to offer..
Just kidding..!

One.
On the first day of school, we had a flag ceremony, a pathetic school opening program featuring a *toot* band.. I wish Behind the Wall played something there.. But.. well, great things take time..
(right guys..?!)

Two.
The new line for us, the new seniors, in the flag ceremony, seems pretty interesting.. because we're literally got nearer to the school's exit.. after some months, we're on our way to college!!
(gosh, I promised myself I won't open this topic in my blog, but I did it again!)

Three.
For the hundredth time in CMSHS history, the sun struck us sooo early in the morning. As usual, I didn't bring my fan and umbrella with me.

Four.
The center stairs is now exclusive to teachers and school personnel. (That's pathetic.) I mean, to think than our room's the closest one from there.. so we have to go around the school just to go to the comfort rooms or buy the food (the only food we had for almost 4 years) in the canteen!
And, I assume that our exit as seniors will not be felt all over.. Because all levels were isolated.. I mean we haven't got the chance to meet new students from the freshmen and we can't spend time with the juniors anymore...

Five.
Arlene, our new classmate, is cool. I can see she liked us, in a way.. That's because AHAFACMiPA welcomed her. Hahahhahah! Just kidding! I mean, her first impression of Section A is not super duper geeky.. we just gave her the normal welcome.. hahahahh! Plus, she's kinda calm and easy-to-be-with...

Six.
Our first two subjects are bloody like hell. Advanced Chemistry and Advanced Physics. But I haven't got the slightest clue of how bloodier they can be..

Seven.
Lets talk Elective. I got really hopeful regarding my choice, Robotics. But then, I got so unlucky and I didn't get to the random picks.. So, I went straight to Developmental Reading.
At first, I thought we're all just going to read countless of books then submit a book report almost every month..(That's kinda cool to me!)
The first days were great.. I got the highest score in the diagnostic test. I got elected as the president of the class (thanks to my Australian accent) and I met more batchmates. (I admit I'm pretty estranged to most of them.)..
But after that! doom! everything's so stinky! we discussed the Dewey Decimal System and Library Congress Classification.. And, take note, we have to memorize them! I got zero in the first surprise quiz... (dumb dumb!)

I just hope things will get a lot better there.. I hope we'll just read and read until our books melt!

Eight.
My seat... is tooooooo far. I got the seat at the back. And my chair's too low.. So the only thing I can see is Cheska's occipital bone. But there's some good things about that. I get to be with my barkada.. I got the chance to bring back Mara's smile in our conversations again... I sat next to a vacant seat.. This is pretty cool because I can put my things there and teachers seat there most of the time.. Even if some of you don't notice, I had had close conversations with some teachers.. Especially Mam Tirones. (Although its kinda hard because she keeps speaking in English.). Another good thing is that, Jellah is one of the coolest seatmate one can have. She's good at Math, she keeps the class fund (haha!) and she's funny..

Still, these great things do not cover the one bad thing a student at the back cannot ignore..
The "Jigglypuff" syndrome..
Some time in the afternoon, a force of nature (I know nature didn't mean to cause this madness) will enter our class. And it will let out a super duper deafening and AWAKENING voice that will make even the sleepiest student to be attentive..

It seems kinda weird, but we girls at the back kept laughing during that subject. That's because the force of nature reminds us of a famous band vocalist. (haha!)

OK OK. so much for the content warning. better stop or else I can't even step into the classroom anymore.

Nine.
my world seems to revolve around my current book, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.. Though it seems I still want to go straight and read The Two Towers right after, I'm troubled if I will choose Crime and Punishment, To kill a Mockingbird or Love in the time of Cholera for my next book.. *sighs*

Ten.
I just noticed that my handwriting became so "doodle-y".. I can even tell that I reluctantly shift from cursive to printed then back again whenever I write something... although one can understand it when read individually, my writing as a whole seemed very unorganized and somewhat crazy...

Well, gotta go now.. leave some comments, will you?

06-05-08

This is my last week of summer.

And I expect it to be the most satisfying week I can have.
But then, I just can't help but laze around the house because I know I will be robbed of sleep for almost a year.

Let's compare my summer last year from now.

It seems like my butt had more action last year than now. Why? That's because I had volleyball lessons last year and, I swear, it made me lose some pounds. Plus, I did countless cardiovascular exercises last year so I'm pretty sure of my health. As in, I craved movement last year. I play badminton almost everyday. I jammed with bands more often. Although the risk of McDonald's, which is soooo near from our house, cannot be avoided, I can say that last summer, I was really active.

This year, unfortunately, my butt's very inactive. Mainly because I'm still adjusting to the neighborhood and I don't feel like showing off my beauty outside.. hahahahah!
My review classes made it worse. I sat on my butt for 88 hours during May mornings. I got no exercise, whatsoever.
The only real action I had this summer is when I travel my self-proclaimed territory every single damn day.. SM Megamall.
I've been lurking inside it, day in day out. But still it's not enough. My allowance and the opening of Starbucks greatly affected my diet. I've been taking on sugar like I had no taste buds.

My addiction to novels made it a whole lot worse. I've been sitting on my butt all day. You know, just lounging around the house like a sloth or something.

OK, lets have a look on my book list.
1. Message in a Bottle - Nicholas Sparks
2. Dear John - Nicholas Sparks
3. The Other Boleyn Girl - Philippa Gregory
4. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Mark Twain
5. The Prince - Niccolo Machiavelli (Discourses)
6. Stainless Longganisa - Bob Ong
7. ABNKKBSNPLKo?! - Bob Ong
8. Memnoch the Devil - Anne Rice
9. The Vampire Armand - Anne Rice
10. Alamat ng Gubat - Bob Ong
11. The Vanishing Thieves - Franklin Dixon
12. The art of war - Sun Tzu
13. The inconvenient truth - Al Gore
14. Maganda pa ang Daigdig - Lazaro Francisco
15. Epic of Gilgamesh
16. For one more day - Mitch Albom
17. Twilight - Stephenie Meyer
18. The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
19. Angels and Demons - Dan Brown
20. Memories of my Melancholy Whores - Gabriel Marquez.
21. (ongoing) Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - J.R.R. Tolkien

Yikes! I never noticed that my list is this LOOOOOONNNGGGGG...!
I am. Officially. A bookworm. hahahahhahah!

Well. I promise that I'll be more active next year's summer. I'll go out more often and I'll do sports.
I'm planning on continuing my drum apprenticeship and taking Capoeira lessons (for the sake of my butt.)
